Hi, I'm Amy!
It's nice to meet you.

here are some random facts about me so you can get to know me more......

About Amy

We probably spoke on the phone recently and you can read all about me on my website but here are a few random facts.....I believe in God and give Him credit for my talents. I’m blissfully married to my soul mate. I have one daughter who is my pride and joy. I adore all animals but especially love cats and bunnies. I love to grow veggies. I’m a 6th generation  Californian. I hate clowns but was a professional birthday party clown for almost 10 years because it paid well and I was good at it. I’m middle-aged but my sense of humor is that of a 12-year-old boy. I present as an extrovert but am really an introvert. I’m a Capricorn. I’m a sunset chaser and a wave watcher.  I’m left dominant ambidextrous. I don’t eat sugar but eat Lilies chocolate like a feind. I take half and half and stevia in my coffee but love a cup of herbal tea. Yes, I’m a real redhead. My favorite color is purple. (duh) I enjoy photographing nature as much as people. I’m not content unless I’m creating art. I’m so approachable and easy to talk to that people tell me their life stories while standing in line at the store.

Good Fit?

The Process

An Overview

After you confirm your booking by signing the "photography services agreement" and paying your retainer or full session fee, (instructions are included below) we move into the pre-session process.

Pre-Session: This is definitely one of the most fun parts of the process.

If you haven't already, check out Pinterest for inspiration on location, poses, props, and general styling. Start thinking about your style and what you’re looking for in your session. Ask questions, Look through our portfolio and figure out what approach you’d like to see in your session and final prints. If you’ve found great inspiration, pass it along to me! If you aren’t sure what you want, it’s OK. I’ll walk you through it every step of the way.

We’ll also discuss how you intend to use the images—save the dates, invites, artwork, framing, etc—and help you refine the message you’re looking to convey within your session.

The Session: The day is finally here! Have fun and relax and you’ll naturally take better photos!

Post Processing:  I go through and pick the very best shots from your session. An average portrait session generally yields at the very least, 50 images for your gallery. Then I work some more magic! I’ll color correct your images, crop, check for highlights and shadows, and do a bit of retouching. For Fine Art Portraiture I may go further. Meaning, I get pretty creative changing the background and adding artistic elements. Please be aware: that this is a time-consuming part of the process.  This is the 2nd part of what sets professional photography apart from a cell phone snapshot. Depending on my schedule or workload it can take up to 3 weeks.

The BIG REVEAL: When I'm wrapping up the post-processing I will send you a link to your session preview! Your session preview is delivered as a beautiful slideshow presentation. Get comfy, grab a beverage, and enjoy!

Within 24 hours of viewing your slideshow, I will also send you a link to choose and purchase your product collection.

Final delivery:  After you have viewed your slide show and made your collection choice, you then gain access to your personalized gallery and print shop! From there you will be able to download and order prints of your favorite images. Turnaround time for products is based on the specific product you order but is often around 5-7 business days.

photography should be lived with and enjoyed

Digital files live on hard drives, on USBs in desk drawers, or on the crowded cloud where you’ll never find them. I know you have the best of intentions for printing them someday. Creating that beautiful gallery wall or photo book is on your to do list (and has been for some time). But who really has time for that? And wouldn’t that time be better spent with the loved ones in the photos anyway? Leave the design and print work up to me and you’ll have gorgeous prints and more free time. Win-win.

Why Hire a Professional?

WHY BOOK ME?

If I were a salesman, I'd have an entire pitch ready to throw your way complete with facts, data, and impressive information to sway you in my direction. But I'm not Amy the salesman; I'm Amy the friendly photographer! So here's what I'll tell you: photography is my thing.  Everyone with a phone has a camera. But not everyone is a photographer.  I've been doing it for years and not only am I good at it, but I also have a great time working with clients and delivering pictures on a daily basis.  Not only do I bring extensive experience as an artist, but right now, photography is my sole focus and, as a result, I have truly honed my craft. I thrive on making art behind the camera. It's where I live and it's also what fuels my life. My sessions are always laid back, yet professional, and I'm ultra-efficient when it comes to the business side of things, as well. I do everything in my power to get your pictures to you quickly and just the way you like them. If you don’t look good, I don’t look good! I've also been told I'm a cool person to hang out with, so I've got that going for me, as well. Seriously, though, don't take my word for it. Check out my testimonials & website to see if my style vibes with yours. And, as I've said before, don't hesitate to reach out with questions!   I'm here to work for you to create the portraits you have always dreamed of.

And one more thing.....

Professional equipment perks: Shooting with a Nikon (my choice of camera) and professional knowledge of lighting help us take the best shots, even in less-than-optimal circumstances. Low light, nighttime, and even high-speed action shots can be tricky for the amateur shutterbug, but pros know how to capture every moment. The end result: Pro photographers can also edit and retouch images and design beautiful finished products like albums, custom prints, canvases, and more. Your best moments deserve just that—the best. Go pro!

Why Book Me?

“Amy’s photos draw you in. Not only does she have an eye for composition, but the way she sees, captures, and uses light and shadow makes you feel as though you are on location. I follow many photographers, and she ranks at the top. Call it talent, a gift, she has that “je ne sais quoi”.”

Patti C.

Amy is an absolutely wonderful photographer to work with. She made the session fun and engaging. She was extremely patient and delightful with children. Her final products are timeless. I highly recommend her!”

Ed D.

“Amy's work is breathtaking! When so much photography out there is mundane, she manages to always find the magic. As a bonus, she is a special soul with a kind heart and a delightfully twisted sense of humor. The world is a much more beautiful place seen through Amy's eyes.”

Marci B.

Testimonials

Ready to Book?

 here are the next steps...

1. SCHEDULING

The Proposal I've sent you has everything you need to book your session digitally. That includes our Photography Service Agreement & Model Release along with an invoice to pay the retainer & Session Fee and secure your date.

2. SESSION FEE

A retainer of 50% of the $250 Session Fee is due to book your session. Once paid, your session will be officially booked.

The remaining $125 balance of the session fee is due no later than your session date.

All payments can be made securely online.

Please be aware, your session time is not reserved until your retainer is paid. Your preferred session time may be reserved by another client if their retainer is paid first.

 CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations are a tough situation that nobody wants to encounter, but we need to have a plan just in case. Because of the nature of my business, after I book your date, I turn away other requests for that timeslot. Dates cannot typically be filled with a late cancellation and I've lost a day of work. For this reason, 50% of the session fee is non-refundable. However, I understand life happens. If you give me as much notice as possible, you can transfer your session fee to a rescheduled date within 30 days, ONE TIME ONLY.

“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on camera is captured forever... It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
