In an area known by locals as the "slowcoast", sits the town of Davenport. Located along California’s coastal Highway 1, south of Half Moon Bay and north of Santa Cruz. Davenport was named after whaling captain John Pope Davenport who in 1867, built a shipping wharf in the area. Davenport is home to some beautiful sites. Davenport beaches are known for their steep cliffs, rock stacks and unique rock formations, including the famous Davenport Crack and Shark Fin Cove In the spring, wildflowers bloom upon the green hills adding to the breathtaking beauty of this location.
